Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Travelling and meeting people is good

I've been travelling quite a lot this summer, met quite a few people, missed quite a few people too. Sorry for the ones I was supposed to contact and didn't in the end, because of a lack of time and/or computer problems.

London
was great. I got to see lots of friends (including my dear and beloved Brandy (~celebrity) with whom I stayed for almost two weeks: :heart:) and met Jeff (!satanic57), who's a great guy. We had coffee in Starbucks, cigs in Hyde Park, I took quite a few pictures of him looking emo but he has them all, not fair. :doh: Then he missed his plane when going back to Hong-Kong. :no: But managed to find another flight in the end. Ha Jeff, you gave me a good laugh. :p

Paris
was quite awesome too. I met a lot of Maud's (~crepuskul) friends, drank lots of French wine and met Charlotte (`Gonzale), Ezra (!ezrawolf) and Fabian (~frere) in a café (where I left without paying my Cappuccino :blush:), then went to Charlotte and Ezra's the next day to have dinner. Which was great fun. :nod: Charlotte makes great pasta salad, her place is quite awesome and Ezra and herself are the cutest little couple ever. :giggle: Ezra complimented my dessert, I was so flattered that I promise I'll cook it for him again haha. :p
I also met a long time internet friend, Anne (~raphaelle), we spent our day in Starbucks cause it was raining so much, and had dinner in a cute Japanese restaurant, only 6,40€ for a menu, bargain! :p It was good meeting her after 4 years of talking on MSN. :D And it was exactly as I expected it to be. ^^

Back home
is ok. But short. I'm leaving in 5 days already for Istanbul. Geez I gotta pack already. Going to see Tim (~bittertaste) there, should be great fun.

In short, deviantART sucks ass sometimes, the new version is a bit weird and there's so much drama shit around that it's laughable. However, I do not feel like leaving this website because I get to meet great people from all over the world and I have to say: I like it. Yeah I do. So even though deviantART keeps on sucking, well I don't give a shit cause what's keeping me here is the people I have met and appreciate, and those I might meet one day. Thanks for rocking this place. :thumbsup:

I don't think I'm gonna be really active in the next weeks because:
- I gotta pack
- I'm off to Istanbul for 2 weeks
- I'm starting UNI again
