Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3

of an era. I finished my BA at the University of Wolverhampton, received my grades by post and I am officially graduating in September with a BA in Graphic Communication (2.1 degree). I have now been back in France for a week, and I can finally enjoy sitting outside in parks instead of hiding in coffee shops.
Today I phoned Central Saint Martins and I was offered a place on their course : MA Communication Design - Photography. I actually had to ask about three times until it dawned on me. That's it. I got accepted. After waiting so long, it actually is hard to realize. So yep, I will in London in September. Two more years and I will be finished with my studies. Although I want to do a PhD, eventually. Not right after my MA because, let's face it, it's not like I need it. I just want to be able to introduce myself as "Dr Salvi" someday. That's on my 100 things to do before I die.

Off to Paris on Monday, yay for French wine.
Off to Los Angeles in 10 days. For more than 3 weeks. My family and I are doing a road trip. Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Salt Lake City, Yellowstone and San Francisco. We have an itinerary and everything but if you guys would like to recommend something to do in one of those cities, or somewhere to eat, or something to see that you think is worth checking out, please drop me a note or something.

This is going to be one exciting summer, I can't wait.

PS: Am I the only person to have a list of 100 things I want to do before I die?
