I used to be a Microsoft Windows XP user and it took me fucking ages before I finally decided to switch from Internet Explorer to Firefox. But it opened my eyes... When I moved on to Mac, the first thing I did was installing my beloved Firefox, browsing the Internet for hours. Firefox was the one and only future, and most of all: it was free. Easy to use, never crashing, I fell in love with it and we started a passionate love affair. I was faithful and promised myself not to ever use any other web browser.

That was until today. Today I realised that my beloved Firefox is actually a stoopid piece of software that does not understand embedded color profiles, in three words it simply: fucks them up.

After spending about four hours calibrating my screen and reading about color profiles, I have come to realise that as much as I used to adore and cherish Firefox, maybe it is time for me to move on... and give Safari a try.

For all of you mac users that will not get convinced by this revelation, go have a look at this: WEB BROWSER COLOR MANAGEMENT Tutorial. Found it really useful and it made me realise why so many pictures look desaturated/washed out when viewed with web browsers such as Firefox, Camino etc. As for the others, well go check it out too. Because I said so. :aww:

I'm sorry Firefox, you served me well but all good things come to an end.

I suppose ~p0rtishead makes some websites. When you're a webmaster, you *cannot* like safari ... really :)

I've never tested my websites with Safari to be honest. Maybe I should...
What makes you say that? :giggle:

Well, especially the fact that you cannot test safari if you don't have a mac, because of there $*ù!^ windows version who is just a very bad browser.
On mac on the contrary, it's a very good one, (I just had had some css parts who worked fine with opera/FF that I had to rewrite, and a ajax toolbar who was buggy on two of my company websites) still, I always install opera for my mac users ;)
Cheers,

eheheh i've never noticed this problem cause i dont care too much about the colours.
anyway i use both and i must say that lately safari has become very interesting, even concerning the computation time.
and the latest release for leopard has the super-mega-fantastic widget: the web-clip.

but please remember firefox!
:P

You don't care about colours? Why ooooh why?
What's that web-clip you're talking about? I'm still using mac OSX.

And Firefox will always be remembered, always. :p
