I went to my photo course yesterday, but got stopped in Grenoble because of the demonstrations. At first I didn't understand what was going on, then my eyes and nose started to hurt and I realised everything was blocked because of the demonstrations. The police wouldn't let me cross the street so I could get to the other side of the city. I managed to find somebody nice enough to let me cross the street so I could go through the city. Then I saw hundreds, thousands of people stuck in one place, yelling insults to the police. I then decided to be late to my photo course and get some photos of the demonstrators. Man... That was impressive. I felt like a war photographer. People running everywhere, cops teargasing anybody shaking his fist a bit too much, the cops, in their cars, playing corrida with the crowd. Oo Some random guy got shot (flashball shot) by a policeman and remained unconscious for a while, when he had nothing to do with the demonstrations. :hmm:
So yeah, I learnt how to hide behind the walls, the cars and basically anything that can protect you from being shot or teargased. :fear:
At one point, I tried to take a photo of that guy but he literally told me: "If you take a photo of me, I'll slap you in the face". I still wanted to take a photo and thought: "He's fat anyway, I'm sure I can run faster than he dies" but didn't because I had my laptop. =/ All the other guys I met asked me to take photos of them though. =/ Posing in front of the riots. Yay! Great idea. :w00t:
Anyway, not having my D70s sucks ass, I had a 28mm and I had to get so close of the police to snap shots that I got teargased several times. And gosh it hurts, but you get used to it after a while. :p Lemon juice in your turtleneck helps a lot though.

They're planning a HUGE demonstration on tuesday, so I think I might get back there and try to snap a few more shots without getting killed. If only I could receive my D70s before then. :fingerscrossed:

Come on ~kil1k, you know you want to come with me. :aww:

hmm, take care.
i'm feeling quite sad about the assaults. it seems that some demonstrators always have to pull out the stones... :/

I will, thank you. :)
Stones... and bottles... and basically anything they can find.
I've got my D70s back though so I don't have to approach them too much to get good shots. Cause a 28mm definitely sucks to take photos in a demonstration. D=
