Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling

I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.
I haven't finished writing SPIKE yet.
And I honestly don't know when it will be finished - which oddly enough brings us to the good news:
I've made a new, major decision in the SPIKE story that I think a lot of you will be happy to hear. As usual I don't want to spoil too much, but there is a part in the story where Spike and Sam are separated from each other for quite a long while. At first I was planning on only writing from Spike's point of view, like, what he's experiencing during this separation period. I figured that since he's the main cha

I went to my photo course yesterday, but got stopped in Grenoble because of the demonstrations. At first I didn't understand what was going on, then my eyes and nose started to hurt and I realised everything was blocked because of the demonstrations. The police wouldn't let me cross the street so I could get to the other side of the city. I managed to find somebody nice enough to let me cross the street so I could go through the city. Then I saw hundreds, thousands of people stuck in one place, yelling insults to the police. I then decided to be late to my photo course and get some photos of the demonstrators. Man... That was impressive. I felt like a war photographer. People running everywhere, cops teargasing anybody shaking his fist a bit too much, the cops, in their cars, playing corrida with the crowd. Oo Some random guy got shot (flashball shot) by a policeman and remained unconscious for a while, when he had nothing to do with the demonstrations.

So yeah, I learnt how to hide behind the walls, the cars and basically anything that can protect you from being shot or teargased.

At one point, I tried to take a photo of that guy but he literally told me: "If you take a photo of me, I'll slap you in the face". I still wanted to take a photo and thought: "He's fat anyway, I'm sure I can run faster than he dies" but didn't because I had my laptop. =/ All the other guys I met asked me to take photos of them though. =/ Posing in front of the riots. Yay! Great idea.

Anyway, not having my D70s sucks ass, I had a 28mm and I had to get so close of the police to snap shots that I got teargased several times. And gosh it hurts, but you get used to it after a while.

Lemon juice in your turtleneck helps a lot though.

They're planning a HUGE demonstration on tuesday, so I think I might get back there and try to snap a few more shots without getting killed. If only I could receive my D70s before then.

Come on ~kil1k, you know you want to come with me.
